Jean Gates

Jean Marie Gates went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for eternity on February 7, 2018. A Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 12, 2018 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Mulkey officiating.

Jean married the love of her life, John Edward Gates, August 20, 1948. The couple shared 69 amazing years together. They were long time members of United Methodist Church. Jean was an accomplished artist, but her true passion was having a family.

Preceding her in death is her son, David.

Left behind to cherish her memories are husband, John Gates; sons, Steve and Faith Gates, Deane Gates, Neil and Norma Gates, Tommy and Jeni Gates, Paul and Lisa Gates; daughter, Nancy and Alan Dassow; 15 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

Jean and John were advocates of Hospice. For many years they volunteered in East Texas where they were trained to help families through difficult times. So in recognition of the attention given to Jean, the family gives a very special thanks to Interim Hospice and Alicia for their compassion and loving care.
