Janis “Jan” Kay Vogt Marroquin, 70, of Waco, passed away on December 24, 2021, surrounded by loved ones. A Memorial Visitation to Celebrate her life will be 4 – 6 pm, Friday, January 7th, 2022, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.
Jan was born in Dallas, Texas on July 12, 1951, to Worth and Annie Vogt. She was a graduate of Richfield High School, in Waco. After High School, she attended McLennan Community College, where she played softball. She had three children, whom she was very close to. Jan had a long and fruitful career in Mortgage Loan processing and worked at several area banks.
Jan loved sports, watching the Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks, and Baylor Bears. Jan was very family oriented and being a Mimi was a very special role, she enjoyed her time with her two grandchildren. Of course, she enjoyed shopping and family events. She was a long-time member of First United Methodist of Waco, and more recently Renew. Her daily interactions with her children and friends will be greatly missed. Jan’s sweet and kind spirit and generous heart left a big impact on many, leaving a legacy of kindness and love for all to live up to.
She is preceded in death by parents and brother, Randy Vogt.
Left to cherish her memories are her children, Zach Marroquin of Waco, Tanner Marroquin and wife, Joy of Las Vegas, Nevada, Sydney Marroquin and fiancé, Colton Miller; grandchildren, Brittney Marroquin, and Maverick Miller; brother, Craig Vogt; her four-legged companion, Andy; and numerous extended family and friends.
