Janis Cline, 73, of Gatesville Texas went to be with her Lord on September 4, 2021; she was surrounded by her loved ones. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Boots N Saddle Cowboy Church with Pastor Charles McKamie of King Baptist Church officiating. Burial Services will be held in Alexandria Ohio in March 2022.
Janis was born at home in Anderson County, Tennessee to Earl Brawder Ward and Emma Mildred Ward (Thomas). She grew up in Tennessee until she was eight, then the family moved to Jersey, Ohio. She attended Licking Heights High School, graduating in 1966. She married her high school love Kenneth (Kenny) Cline on June 1, 1968. They had two daughters, Teri and Kendra. During the part of her life spent in Ohio, she was faithfully guided by her Lord and Savior, and was involved with her church families. Janis spent many years with Kathy Canfield cleaning homes so that she could have the money for her girls to be active in school functions or extracurricular activities like roller skating and horseback riding; and to help anyone who might need it. She had a heart like her Lord, often going without herself to give to others.
With the sudden loss of Kenny in 2005, she moved to Texas to be with her daughters Teri and Kendra. Janis found her work home at Walmart in Gatesville in 2010. Janis was a much beloved member of the Electronics Department. She had several church families but found her home at King Baptist Church where she transferred her membership and shared in the praise of her Lord.
Janis never met a stranger. She could speak to anyone like they were long lost friends. She was full of love, compassion, and honesty. She had a love for books, music and singing even though she could not carry a tune in a bucket, Janis would always say, “The Lord made me this way and he will love it!” even when it embarrassed her kids and grandkids. She seemed to enjoy it even more than. We know Janis is singing like an angel now with perfect pitch. She loved her four legged kids, enjoyed sunsets and all the flowers and “weeds” she could find.
Janis was preceded in death by husband of 36 years, Kenny Cline, parents Earl and Mildred, brothers Pete Owens and Don Ward. She is survived by her daughters Teri Campbell and husband Clint of Flat, TX, Kendra Cline of Gatesville, TX, brother Larry Ward of Heath, OH, grandchildren Denise Hall and Cameron Jones of Flat, TX, Keith Cornwell of Flat, TX, many nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends Kathy Canfield of Cardington, OH and Brenda Deitrich of Spring, TX.
To Love and to be Loved is the Greatest Joy on Earth. So many memories we all have, please share them with us. We are planning to put together a book of memories so that her grandchildren will have them.
