James Hartin III

On Saturday June 20,2009 James A. Hartin III, 65 departed this life to begin it anew in his eternal home. He was born May 3, 1944 in Gatesville Texas, to James A. Hartin Jr. and Freda Hartin Holly. Visitation will be Monday June 22, from 6 – 8PM at Grace Gardens Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Tuesday at 10AM at Grace Gardens Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Marshall officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park Cemetery.

After graduating from Waco High School in 1962, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He was stationed in several bases throughout the world and served as a cryptologist during the Vietnam War. After his discharge, he attended TSTI and took courses in computer technology. He worked for Behrens Drug for 20 years as a systems analyst. He then went to work for Scott and White Pharmacy services in charge of computer services for all of the Health Plan pharmacies, retiring in May of 2006.

He was preceded in death by his father James A. Hartin Jr. He is survived by his wife Kathy Hartin, a daughter, Jennifer Hartin and his mother Freda Holly; a step sister Suzanne Eastburn, two step-sons, Michael Stanford and Brian Stanford and six step-grandchildren.
