James Hailey

Jim Hailey, 94 passed away on Monday, December 11, 2017. Jim was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, the son of James Hailey Sr. and Kate Garrett. Jim was in the United States Army and a veteran of World War II. Jim graduated from Southern Methodist University with a degree in Industrial Engineering. Jim spent the majority of his career with Bell Helicopter in Dallas-Ft.Worth.

Jim was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Helen Combs Hailey. He is survived by his son James Graves Hailey III and wife Angela of Arlington, and daughter Miriam Hailey Hemmeline and husband Stanley of Montgomery, TX. Jim is also survived by a sister Orrena Hailey Herod of Denton and a sister-in-law, Christine Hailey of Ft. Worth. Jim is survived by Esther Altus Schrader Hailey, his wife of 24 years. Jim is also survived by Esther’s sons, Brad and wife Cyndy of Richardson, Brian and wife Michele of Longview, and Bruce and wife Cynthia of Lubbock. Jim has 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and a list of lifelong friends.

There will be a service to celebrate Jim’s life on Saturday, December 16th at 1 PM in the Chapel at Providence Park, 300 W. St. Hwy 6, Waco, Texas. In lieu of flowers, Jim and Esther would prefer donations to the Talitha Koum Institute, 1311 Clay Ave, Waco, TX 76706.
