James Burl Bachus, 64, of Waco, passed away Monday, August 24, 2015, following a battle with brain cancer. Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 27, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 7201 Viking Drive, Waco, Texas. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park.Burl graduated in 1969 from Richfield High School in Waco, and recieved a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering from Utah State University, Logan, Utah. He worked for M.W. Kellogg Construction Co., in Houston, Texas on numerous construction projects all over the world including Australia, England, Japan, Malaysia, Taiwan, Abu Dhabi, and Singapore. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.Burl was a wonderful, compassionate, generous man who was greatly loved and admired by all who knew him. He had a great sense of humor and loved to make jokes and tease. He was an inspiration to everyone for the way he persevered and endured his disabling condition over the past 22 years. He taught all of us so much about life and love and never giving up. He will be greatly missed.He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Lee Bachus.Burl is survived by his mother, Byrl Ann Bachus of Waco; brother, Lee Bachus and wife, Dana, of Woodway; sisters, Cynthia Murry and husband, Jeff, of Waco, Irma Sampson and husband, Donald, of Waco, and Elizabeth Adams and husband, Brant, of Las Cruces, New Mexico; and numerous nieces and nephews.A special thanks to all the nurses and aids from Gentiva Hospice for their service to Burl and his family
