Jacob Ross Nolan, 35, of Waco, passed away on December 23, 2013. Cremation will be handled by Grace Gardens Funeral Home. A memorial service is planned for January 11, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Elkins Lake Baptist Church, 206 SH19 in Huntsville TX with Dr. Ken Hugghins officiating. Jacob will be buried at a later date next to his grandparents at a private, family service in Houston at Forest Park Cemetery, Lawndale.
He was born January 23, 1978 in College Station to Mike and Sandra Nolan. Jake was raised in Madisonville and Huntsville, TX and graduated from Huntsville High School in 1996. He continued his education at Sam Houston State University with a degree in Management Information Systems. Later, he completed his Master’s degree from Texas A & M Commerce. Jacob made a profession of faith when he was 9 years old and was baptized at Elkins Lake Baptist Church in Huntsville, TX.
Jake adored his family and was lovingly called Uncle Cup by his niece and nephew. He was a talented musician playing both the alto and soprano saxophone. He loved sports, spending time with friends and was working on being a champ at billiards. He had a loving, sweet spirit and doted on his black lab, Maui.
Jacob is survived by his mother and father, his brother, Jason and sister-in-law Bianca and his niece and nephew, Lily and Jaimen all of Crawford, TX. He will also be missed by his aunts and uncles, Rosann McCarter of Bryan, TX, Claudia and John McKinney of Waco, TX, David and Diane Nolan of Bentley, LA,, and Mary and Gary Hines of College Station, TX as well as cousins RJ Boatman of Pearland, TX; Michele Mayeaux, Landon Mayeaux and John McKinney all of Waco, TX; Amanda Nolan and Chris Nolan of Bentley, La; Morgan Hines and Stephen Hines of College Station. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Lester and Sue Nolan and Ross and Laura Lee Boatman.
Jacob touched the lives of many people with his smile and gentle spirit. He will especially be missed by his brother who valiantly tried to save him.
