Jack Elliott Wilson, 67, of McGregor passed away Tuesday May 20th, 2014 surrounded by his family. Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home, 8220 Woodway Dr. A visitation with the family, will be Friday, May 23, 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.

Jack was born in Teague to Ruel and Clytee Wilson August 1, 1946. He attended and graduated from Teague High School and then attended Sam Houston State. He began to work for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, where he worked for over 20 years. Jack then became a long haul owner operator truck driver. Jack (Lonestar Cowboy) and his 1995 Kenworth W900, “Nana’s Nightmare,” traveled across all 48 states, covering over 2 million miles. During this time he met the love of his life, Kathy (Tomcat’s Kitten) and the couple married March 21, 1981. Jack loved his children and grandchildren and cherished the time he spent with them. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, and spending time outdoors. The grandchildren always asked for granpa’s hamburgers anytime Jack was home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law, Tom and Cecille Jones; and brother, James Wilson; and his uncle, Jack, who was his namesake.

Jack is survived by his wife of 33 years, Kathy; daughters, Amy Hearn and husband, Brandon, Joycelyn Owen and husband, Danny, and Deedee Wilson Elliott and husband Charles; son, Paul Elliott Wilson and wife, Missey; grandchildren, Elizabeth Reinke and husband Wesley, Tommy Jack Jones, Addison Hearn, Austin Hanna, Ashley Smith, Justin Evans, Jacey Evans, and Gracce Elliott; and special great-granddaughter, Kinzleigh Faith Reinke; and siblings, Bill Moseley, Dixie Bennett, Jan Lovett and husband, Dave; sister-in-law Ola Carter; brother-in-law, Tommy Jones, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins and friends.

Memorials in Jack’s honor may be made to the Red Cross or Carter Bloodcare, or the charity of your choice.
