Jack Bouldin passed away peacefully on May 13, 2010 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his immediate family , including his wife of 63 years, Ruby, and a very heavy atmosphere of God's perfect love, following a 12 year battle with cancer. Services for Jack will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday May 15, 2010 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home with Dr. Jeffrey Lethco, Pastor Shelton Markam, and Pastor Jimmie Spann officiating. Interment will follow at Moody Cemetery.
Jack was born March 23, 1927, the 2nd of four siblings born to Everett and Ella Bouldin, in a "share-cropper" farm house, near Pendleton, TX. His Dad was an early and young victim of WWI injuries. Ella never re-married. Jack asked that his obituary credit his Mother's brilliance, her Christianity, her character, her confidence and leadership that made possible the 83 great years provided to Jack and his family by "Momma Ella" and a loving perfect God.
Jack served in the European Theatre during "The War". He was assigned directly as a member of Gen. Mark Clark's personal staff in Vienna, Austria. Upon discharge, he elected to go to work for Southwestern Bell. His career there encompassed 34 years. At time of retirement he was General Plant Manager for Bell, for the state of Arkansas. In summary of his career, Bell expected management to give a minimum of 5% of their time, and some of their money toward betterment of the communities where they lived and worked. Jack did that. He served on other corporate boards of directors in Arkansas. He considered his education finalized by completing 3 credit hours of executive management training at Princeton University in 1974.
Jack was a 32nd degree Mason, in good standing, at his Lodge in Midland, TX, for 50 years. He was a serious golfer and loved Ridgewood. Jack and Ruby have been members of Western Heights Baptist Church for 12 years. He also enjoyed many years of amateur rodeo and accomplished some recognized success as a trainer of performance quarter horses.
His greatest pleasures derived from growing up with is son, building hot rods, watching his fundamental education, enjoying his many athletic accomplishments, seeing him graduate from TCU and agreeing with him whole-heartedly on his selection of the best and prettiest daughter-in-law that any man could ever have.
We think the last thing he would tell you, is that after honoring God everyday for the past 22 years, his "final focus" at the end of each day was always on "An Angel Named Ruby"!
Survivors include his wife Ruby; son Jack Jr. and wife Sandra of Ft. Worth; sister Jenny and husband Cecil of Rockpoint, TX; nieces Jennifer Hoffpauir of Hempstead, TX, and Juliana Adair of Austin, Tx; nephew Sherman Law of Houston, TX; nieces Pamela Bouldin of Huntsville, TX and Roxanne Law of London, England.
One of his last requests was for us to tell the Waco community, in a loud voice, that the Providence Hospice Team provided a service that exceeded any level he even imagined they could attain.
