Irene (Veselka) Rogers

Irene Rogers, 96, of Speegleville, passed away December 10, 2022 at her residence.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 17, 2022 at St. Louis Catholic Church. Visitation will be 5-7pm, Friday, December 16, with the Rosary said at 6pm, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.

Irene was born in West, Texas on June 7, 1926, to Jim and Emilie Veselka.  Irene married William “Bill” Calvin Rogers Jr on Feb. 8, 1945, in Waco.  She worked for CertainTeed for 20 years. Irene was committed to her faith, her family, and the home she and Bill created. She was a true servant to others, a wonderful cook, a loving homemaker, and a mean domino player. She was also a strong, determined and fiercely independent woman.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Emilie Veselka: her brothers, Bill, Victor, Henry, Louis, Ernest, George, Jerry, and Albert Veselka; her husband, Bill Rogers; and son Calvin Rogers.

Survivors include her daughter, Diane Kevil and husband, Bill; grandchildren, Brian Kevil and wife, Marion; Lisa Kevil, Jason Kevil, Shelli Ferris and husband, Andrew, Austin Rogers and wife, Amanda, and great-grandchildren, Jacob, Meghan, Malorie, Eli, Makayla and husband, Jason, and Tiberius.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Ferris, Jason Conners, Austin Rogers, Brian Kevil, Jason Kevil and Bill Kevil.
