Biography

Irene was born December 18, 1922 to Anton Krahulik and Emilie Babovec Krahulik in Oenaville, Texas, and was the youngest of seven children. She was a member of Lake Shore United Methodist Church and also a charter member of the SPJST Fraternal Lodge #66 in Elm Mott. Being very proud of her Czech heritage she was always baking kolaches, bread and other homemade pastries. Irene was very involved and supportive in her children’s activities and enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. Among her hobbies was being a flower enthusiast, watching her flowers grow and she also enjoyed oil painting. She married Alvin Reznicek in 1943 at the Seaton Brethren Church and they were married for 52 years before his passing.

She was preceded in death by her husband. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her four children - three daughters, Elaine Blood and her husband Pat of Bedford; Lana Thrasher and her husband Glenn of Waco; and Chan Turner and her husband Jerrett of Longview; one son Tim Reznicek of Waco; one sister Adela Elliott of Albuquerque, New Mexico; eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
