Howard Johnson

Howard Dwight Johnson, 78, of Crawford passed away Sunday, October 30, 2016. A visitation will be from 6-8 held on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3p.m., Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home with Craig Klempnauer, Th. D. officiating. Burial with the family and friends will be on Thursday at 11 a.m. at The Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery 11463 TX-195, Killeen, TX 76542.

Howard was born on August 27, 1938 to Howard Jacob Johnson and Barbara Elizabeth Conner Johnson in Dewey, Oklahoma. He served his country in the United States Army where he served 3 tours in Vietnam and was honorably discharged. He was a lifetime member of the VFW 8828 . He spent many years in construction as an Iron Worker. Howard enjoyed spending time with his family and the great outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and two sisters.

He is survived by three sons; Jacob Charles Johnson, Howard Eugene Johnson, Jimmy Edward Johnson all of Brownwood, TX., three daughters; Barbara Sue Wright of Crawford, TX, Jo Ann Wynona Alva of Brownwood, TX, Samantha Jane Johnson of Lenoir City, TN, one sister; Beverly Sue Bolin of Troy, MO. Fourteen grandchildren and twenty one great-grandchildren.
