Homero Barrios

Homero Armando Barrios, born December 7, 1936, passed away peacefully at the age of 82 on October 10, 2019. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 12, 2019, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Grace Garden’s Funeral Home. The Family will receive visitors following the memorial service at 702 W Billington Waco, TX 76706.

He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and loved cheering them on each week. He enjoyed staying busy working on projects around his home, and loved spending time with his family. Homero migrated his family from Mexico to create a better life for them and was proud to become an American Citizen. He enjoyed being a truck driver in his earlier years with his sons. He later transitioned to buying and selling used goods. Homero enjoyed garage selling, and walking the flea market; he was a professional bargain shopper and haggler. He was an active church member and was truly a perfect example of a servant of Christ. He loved joking around with his grandchildren and enjoyed being outdoors. Homero had a love for ice cream and believed fruit tasted better when walking around the store eating it.

Homero is preceded in death by his son, Martin Barrios. He is survived by his wife, Maria Barrios, his daughter, Dalia Teague and husband Scott Teague, his son, Juan Barrios and wife Brenda Barrios, daughter, Gabriella Barrios, his six grandchildren: Sheryl Teague, Sarah Teague, Fabian Barrios, Matt Teague, Leslie Barrios, and Julian Barrios, and great-grandson, Cru Duhon.
