Herman Thiele

Biography

Herman E. Thiele Jr., age 82 of McGregor, passed away at his residence, Saturday November 20, 2010. Graveside Funeral services will be 11 am, Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at McGregor Cemetery.

Herman was born in McGregor Texas to Herman and Rosa Krollage Thiele. He graduated from McGregor High School in 1946; graduated from Texas Tech with a B.S. in Engineering in 1951. He married Bertha Denison in 1949 and they had three children. He was employed with Texas Power & Light from 1951 to 1983. Herman worked at various power plants, Trinidad, River Crest, Lake Creek, Trading House and some in the Dallas area. In 1982 he married Mary Sheffield. He was a member of ST. John United Church of Christ in Robinson where he served on the church council and as an usher. He also served on the East Crawford Water Board.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mary. Also preceded in death by Bertha and their son Dennis.

He is survived by a son, Curtis Elbert Thiele of Crosby, Texas; a daughter, Emily Ann Thiele Corley and her husband Randal, of Waco; five grandchildren, Stanton, Clint, Travis, Mallory and Monica Corley.
