Gloria "Pat" (Jones) Wright, 84, came into the presence of the Lord just before midnight on August 31, 2013, with her family by her side. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 1 p.m. at High Point Church, where she was a member, located in the Texas Christian Academy Building at Sanger and New Road in Waco. Pastor John Rambeau will be officiating.

Pat was born on February 4, 1929 in Waco to Robert C. Jones and Jewell (Herod) Jones. She was raised in Waco and graduated from Waco High School in 1946. Upon graduation she moved to Houston and while there she met the love of her life, David Arthur Wright. They married on Christmas Eve, 1949 in Waco and were married for 34 years until his death in 1984.

Once back in Waco, she began her lifelong career in banking at The First National Bank until 1977 and then moved to Central National Bank where she worked until her retirement in 2004.

In her retirement she enjoyed living in the country where she built her home in 1992. Her passion was sewing, beginning in the 1950's by making her and her children's clothes. She excelled at making patterns and alterations. She also enjoyed reading the daily paper, solving worked puzzles and crosswords, and of course, her coffee. She was a wonderful cook and loved holding family parties and cooking for her friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, David; brother, Kenneth Jones; and half sister, Lorraine Fuqua.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Howard and husband Jimmy of Waco; son, David Wright and wife Paula of McGregor; daughter, Judy Shipp and husband Ronald of Decatur; grandchildren, David Howard and wife Andrea, Tracie Brockman and husband Jeff, Jamie Shirley, and Hannah Jackson and husband David; great grandchildren, Landon and Payton Howard; sister-in-law, Dorlene Jones; brother-in-law, Donald Wright; and nieces, Donna, Cathy, and Brenda.

Grace Gardens is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to High Point Church, P.O. Box 23778, Waco, Texas 76702.
