Glenn L. Hood age 69, of Waco passed away Saturday May 19, 2012. Graveside Services will be at 9:30 AM Thursday May 24, 2012 at Oakwood Cemetery. A Memorial Service will follow at 11:30 AM at Grace Gardens Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Gray officiating.
Glenn was born December 22, 1942 in Waco, Texas to William F. and Blanch Hood. He served in the US Marine Corps during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He married his high school sweetheart Ceylon in December 1960. He retired from Waco Meat after 28 years. He was an avid football player and fan, his joy was watching his brother Dwight play football at Baylor, his son David playing football at Tarleton and his grandson Ian playing at Glen Rose.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Nathan and Dwight Hood and nephew Shannon Hood.
Glenn is survived by his wife Ceylon of 52 years; a son David Hood and his wife Angela of Glen Rose; 3 grand children Ian Valdez, Samantha Hood and Maxwell Hood; a brother Bill Hood and his wife Lou; two sister in-laws Lynn Hood and Marsha Whitfield and her husband Tony; numerous nieces and nephews and friends.
Glenn won his battle with Alzheimer's and is now whole body mind and soul, sitting with his Lord and Savior.
