Glenda Joy Cline, 77, of Hewitt was wrapped in the loving arms of her Saviour, Jesus on Wednesday, July 21, 2021. A Visitation with the family will be 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, July 23, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 1 p.m., Saturday, July 24, 2021, at First Baptist Church Hewitt, with Rev. Roy Marshall officiating. She will be laid to rest 2 p.m., Monday, July 26, in the Abilene State Veterans Cemetery during a brief graveside service. Service will be livestreamed to Grace Gardens Facebook page.
Glenda lived in Baird, TX most of her younger years, working many years Hendricks Medical Center retiring from there and lived in Hewitt, TX the last several years. She played the piano at Baird First Baptist Church when living in Baird. She was active in her church in Hewitt as her health allowed. She played the piano for the Stoney Brook Assistant Living Center on Sundays in recent years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Doug Cline, her father, George W. Ricks, her second father, Aubrey N. Loper. She is survived by her daughter, Joy D. Stripland, her grandson, Jason Tynes, her granddaughter, Nycole (Troy)Thorp, two great-grandsons, Gavin and Brayden. Her siblings: Kathy (Paul) Savage, Rita (Ronnie) Smetana, Roger (Brenda) Freeland, Connie (David) White, Theresa Lambert, Suzette (Richard) Lockwood, Vicki Freeland, Sharon (Tuffy) Waldrop, and Jerry (David) Paustian many other family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Jude’s, Salvation Army, Widows of Warriors, Doctors Without Borders, to mission’s ministry of your church or the charity of your choice.
