Gladys Mae Wilson age 93, of Waco passed away Wednesday June 13, 2012 at her home. Memorial Services will be 6:30PM Saturday June 16, 2012 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home Chapel.
Gladys was born on April 29, 1919 in New York to Leon and Mary Isabell Pelcher of Long Island, New York. She married John W. Kirkham of Long Island, New York and lived there until her husband’s death in 1965. She moved to Waco, Texas in 1966. She worked for Dr. Roach, and later for Jim Stewart Realtors. She married Jesse Wilson in 1980 and travelled the world until his death in 1992. She was a gourmet cook, enjoyed the Cooking Channel and hosting dinners for family and friends. Gladys loved animals. She was a source of love and support for her family. She couldn’t wait to meet her great granddaughter, Charlee. Gladys was always cheerful and had many good friends.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Leon and Kenneth Pelcher, and her sister, Irene Salerno.
Gladys is survived by her sons, Jeff Kirkham, Jim Kirkham and wife Margaret of Woodway, Texas, and granddaughter Angela Bailey and husband Chris of Carrollton Tx. and granddaughter Amber Kirkham of Carrollton Tx., and one great-granddaughter, Charlee Bailey. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
