Gerald Taft

Gerald B. Taft Sr., 66, of Hewitt passed away March 21. A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 25, at 1 p.m., at Grace Gardens Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wed. March 24, from 6-8 p.m., at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.
Gerald was born in Sweetwater and was raised in San Angelo, where he attended Central High. He was an active bowler and golfer. In his later years he enjoyed woodworking.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, John Wesley and Clora Taft; brothers John Wesley, Harry, George, and Robert; sisters Helen Taft and Imogene Nixon.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Judy; son, Gerald B. Taft, Jr.; daughters Sandra Brannen of Hewitt and Sherrie Taft of Austin; two step-sons, Vernon Coplen, and Brian Coplen, both of Hewitt; grandchildren Lacey Taft, James Brannen, Jonathan Taft, Elizabeth Manczak-Taft, Deanie, William, Hayley, Tristian, and Tyler Coplen; many nieces and nephews; and other close special family & friends Sandy Manczak, Emily Witt, Stephanie and Ted Beeman.
