Georgia Haferkamp

Georgia Christine Haferkamp, 87, of Waco, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2016. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Monday, August 15, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Krupicka officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 3 to 5 p.m., Sunday, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.

Georgia was born August 7, 1929 in West to her parents, John and Mary Sykora. On May 31, 1949, Georgia was married to the love of her life, Elmo Haferkamp. They were married for almost 60 years when Elmo passed in 2008.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmo Haferkamp, Sr.; brothers, Albert Sykora and Ernest Sykora; and daughter-in-law, Josephine Haferkamp.

Georgia is survived by her son, Elmo Haferkamp, Jr. and wife, Rebecca; sister, Adel Ulrich; half-brother, Daniel Sykora; grandson, Andrew Haferkamp and wife, Tasha; granddaughter, Allison McCulloch and husband, Fred; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Sue Hensel and Mary Lou Lehde for visiting Georgia faithfully.

Pallbearers are Andrew Haferkamp, Fred McCulloch, Stacy Jenkins, John Kelbly, Eldon Swenson, and Kenneth Watson.

Memorials may be made to Saint Matthew Lutheran Church, 800 N New Rd.
