George Tibbs, 78, of Waco, passed away on February 17, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loved ones due to complications from Alzheimer’s Disease.
George was born January 23, 1945 in Kingsville, TX to Connally and Johnnie Tibbs. He grew up in Waco and later moved to Abilene, where he graduated from Cooper High School in 1963. After graduation, he married his high school sweetheart Beverly Walker. He then joined the Navy and was stationed around the US before returning to Texas. He enrolled at McMurry College and graduated 1970.
For 27 years, George was employed as an Associate Director at the Region 12 Education Service Center. After retirement, George loved playing with his grandchildren, teaching them many things. He loved classic cars, his family, and his faith.
He is preceded in death by his parents and younger brother Billy. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Beverly, daughter Carey and grandson Christopher, daughter DeAnna and grandchildren Evan and Ava and daughter Leigh Ann and son-in-law Jon. He is also survived by his sister Cynthia, brother Jerry and many other beloved family members.
