Fred Geltemeyer, Jr

Fred Geltemeyer, Jr., 83, of McGregor, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2020.  A Memorial Visitation with his family will be 4-6, Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home, 8220 Woodway Drive in Waco.

Fred was born to Frederick and Emma Geltemeyer on April 8, 1936.  He grew up in McGregor and was a 1955 graduate of McGregor High School.  He entered the Army in 1960 and served his country for two years in peace time Germany.

Fred was a lifelong farmer in the McGregor and Olgesby areas.  He enjoyed rebuilding tractors and spending time with his family and friends.  He passed on his love of farming to his son, Robert, whom he assisted in the field.

Fred was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, they married February12, 1971, Dolores Marie Dahl Geltemeyer.

He is survived by his son, Robert and wife Amanda Geltemeyer; granddaughters, Abrianna and Haley; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
