Frankie Millsaps

February 6, 1927 — December 23, 2011

Frankie Millsaps, age 84, of Waco was joyously welcomed into heaven on December 23, 2011, from a local hospital with her family by her side. Funeral Services will be 2PM Tuesday December 27, 2011, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Randy Hughes officiating. Interment will follow at Valley Mills Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8PM Monday December 26, 2011, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home Chapel.

Frankie was born on February 6, 1927 in Oglesby, Texas to Virgil and Johnnie Huff. She married Edker Pritchard on November 18, 1945. After Edker’s death she married Robert Hugh Millsaps on December 29, 1967. Frankie was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Waco.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; a sister Anna Todd Street.

Frankie is survived by two daughters, Kay O’Brien and her husband Bob; Jean Montgomery and her husband Don; a son, Wayne Pritchard and his wife Vicki; 4 grandchildren, Julie, Jeremy, Meredith and Dusty; 4 Great Grandchildren, Austin, Matthew, Addie and Jacob; one brother, Bruce Huff and his wife, Betty; numerous nieces and nephews.

Mama thoroughly enjoyed traveling the world with family and friends, camping-out with grandchildren, teaching water aerobic classes at Figure World, volunteering at Kendrick Elementary, and cake decorating. She was talented with the making of her yearly Christmas candy- divinity- that she would box up and share with her loved ones. Ten years ago, after Mama had her first stroke, she began sewing adult bibs for Providence Park. When visiting a dining room at Providence Park, look around and see all the lives our mother touched with this special gift. She made thousands!

In 2006, Governor Rick Perry and the Texas State Board of Education in Austin, honored 15 Texas Volunteers with the Heroes for Children Award. Our mother was one of those 15, a nominee from Kendrick Elementary in Waco.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to Kendrick Elementary School.
