Frank Beavers, 74, of Woodway, passed away Friday, November 21, 2014. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, December 14th at Grace Gardens Funeral Home, 8220 Woodway Dr. Special speakers Mr. Elmer Graesser and Mr. Harold Rafuse, PhD. The family is inviting visitors to remain afterwards for refreshments and fellowship.
Frank was born on November 27th, 1939 to Fred and Mamie (Bailey) Beavers in Herndon, West Virginia. He received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from West Virginia Institute of Technology in 1961 and his Masters in 1972 from the University of Utah. He and his family transferred to Waco with Hercules Aerospace in 1987. Frank was the Head Engineer at the Hercules plant in McGregor where he designed, analyzed, and tested rockets. Frank retired after 35 years of experience in aerospace technology in 1994. He was then employed with S.A.I.C. until 1998. Frank then went on to work for Advanced Concept and Technologies International and evaluated facilities and equipment needed for the dismantlement of rockets in accordance with the S.T.A.R.T. Protocol until his retirement in 2007. Frank had several hobbies including carpentry, wood working, and country western dancing. He single-handedly added over 1,700 square feet to their home in China Spring! Frank also played a mean game of 42(dominoes)!
Frank met Jacque on March 7, 1995 and they were married February 23, 1997. All of their children were present at their wedding. They were married for 17 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; former wife, Mary Lou; and daughter, Amy Calvert.
Frank is survived by his wife Jacque; daughter, Diane Clayton of Colorado; son, Mike Beavers and wife, Jennifer, of Utah. He is also survived by Jacque's daughters; Julie Browder of Denton; Debby Cuzzo and husband, Steve, of Flower Mound, and Robyn Browder of Little Elm; grandchildren Paul and Cara Clayton of Utah, Amanda Skowronek of Utah, Heather Scott of Utah, Courtney Beavers of Kansas, Jason Holmes of Montana, Gabriel and Garret Diaz of Texas, and Logan and Victoria Cuzzo of Texas; and great-grandchildren, Braxton and Austin Skowronek, and Cade Scott, all of Utah.
