Evalyn Marie (Hazel) Kaylor, 82, passed away Monday, October 23, 2017, at her home in Hewitt, TX. Her service will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home with Bro. Roy W. Marshall officiating. A visitation will be held before the service from 11:30- 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.
She was born November 11, 1934 in Greensburg, PA, daughter of the late George H. Hazel and Eva (Middlekauff) Hazel. After graduating from Greensburg Salem High school, she was employed by Westmoreland Tuberculosis Association until shortly after starting a family. While raising her children, she worked for Hempfield Area School District as a cafeteria monitor. She was member of the Church of the Open Door in Greensburg, PA until she and her family moved to Texas in 1981 and became a member of the First Baptist Church of Hewitt where she worked in the nursery for many years. In addition to her parents, Evalyn is preceded in death by her brother, Donald Hazel. She is survived by her husband of 61 years Harrold (Tom) Kaylor and three daughters; Judy Sprung, husband Chuck of Hewitt; Vicki Noel, husband Chris of Hewitt; Sue Tyra, husband Mitch of Georgetown; and son, Tom Kaylor, wife Niki of McGregor. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and their spouses; Steve and Jennifer Sprung; Jennifer and Amado Benitez; Stacy and Jeshuah Whitney; Mark and Brittney Noel; Thomas and Celeste Kaylor; Chelsea and Russell Irby; Wesley Kaylor; Sam and Rachel Tyra and 10 great -grandchildren.
We would also like to thank the staff of Texas Home Health Care, hospice nurses Misti and Julie, Dr. Heather Henderson of Baylor Scott & White and the staff of Hillcrest Hewitt Clinic. Special thanks to Dr. Raley and Patricia Stark for their love and kindness.
