Eva Jo Hale Hicks, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, passed away on November 30 2024, in Temple, Texas, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on January 18, 1948, in Moody, Texas to Jim Ed Key and Lona Mae Key.
As a licensed vocational nurse, Eva dedicated her career to the care of others, after earning her nursing credentials, she continued her education at McLennan Community College.Eva was not only defined by her career but also by her distinct personality. She possessed a dry sense of humor that often brought levity to the lives of those who knew her.
Eva cherished moments spent quietly enjoying her cigarettes and coffee, as well as knitting. Family was at the center of Eva's world, and she took her opportunities to build lasting memories with them.
Eva is survived by her sons, Keith and his wife Rosanna, Rusty and his wife Elizabeth, David and his wife Melanie, and Michael and his wife Christi. She was proud of her grandchildren: David, Jimmy, Kayley, Lacie, Alexus, Ashley, Jonathon, Kymberly, Kassidy, Katelyn, Noah, Jake, Georgia, and Evangeline. Eva also leaves behind numerous great-grandchildren, each one a testament to her enduring legacy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; George Mickey Hale, the father of her children, her son Kevin Wayne, and all of her siblings, who have welcomed her with open arms. The bonds she shared with her family and friends will be remembered and cherished.
Eva’s soul, combined with her unique humor, has left a mark on the hearts of those who knew her.
