Eva Benavides Hernandez of Waco passed away Sunday, September 11, 2016. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Dennis Rajcek officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior, 10 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery.
Eva was born to Santiago and Hilaria Benavides January 7, 1929 in Jourdanton, TX. The family moved to Moody where she was raised. Eva took pride in being a wife, a mom, a grandmother along with being a seamstress and continued sewing for others at home after retiring. Eva loved her church, Robinson Drive United Methodist Church. She was a member and supported the foundation of the Latin Methodist Church.
Preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Manuel Hernandez.
Eva is survived her son, Robert Hernandez and wife, Vickie; daughter, Ester Vajo and Jenny Vajo, son, Roger Bernal, and daughter, Tina Bernal; sister, Olivia Benavides; brother, Joe Benavides and wife, Carmen, grandchildren, Shane Hernandez, Shanna Sheffield and husband, Martin, Leslie Engledow and husband, James, Luke Vajo, and Jessica Hamilton; 11 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank all of the family and friends who spent time with Eva.
