Eura Katherine (Nichols) Lowrey

February 13, 1931 — January 24, 2022

Crawford, Texas

Eura) Katherine Lowrey passed away peacefully Monday, January 24, 2022, at the age of 90.  A visitation will be 10 to 11 A.M. Tuesday, February 1, 2022, in the Bluebonnet Parlor of Grace Gardens Funeral Home, 8220 Woodway Dr.  At 1:00 P.M. the graveside service and interment will be in Waco Memorial Park, officiated by Rev. Stan Ortner

Mrs. Lowrey was born February 13, 1931, in Belton, Texas, the daughter of the late Richard and Maudy Inez (Snodgrass) Nichols.

Katherine was a bank teller for 30 years in the Dallas area. She enjoyed many hobbies such as knitting, crochet, cooking and China painting in which she won many awards at the Texas State Fair. She loved the outdoors, having a passion for fishing and hunting. She was a huge Dallas Cowboy fan.

Katherine had many interest and excelled in whatever she decided to try from championship turkey calling and guiding to fragile China painting.

Katherine was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jack M. Lowrey. Also preceding her in death was a  a sister, Winnie Stitz.

Katherine is survived by the love of her life, James B. Phillips. She is also survived by her nieces Susan Smith and husband Ricky, Dianne White and Brayton Wight and Janice Goebel and a nephew, Jerry Stitz and wife Patsy. She is also survived by very dear friends Steve Price and wife Michelle. Also survived by step children Cheryl Eckels and Jim Phillips.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and other staff at St. Anthony’s Care Center and Bluebonnet Hospice for the compassionate care she received in her final months and days.
