Ethel Fritz passed away Sept. 11, 2018, at the age of 85
surrounded by her family. A memorial graveside service will be Saturday September 22, 2018, at Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Grace Gardens Funeral Home with Rev. John Pena officiating.
Mrs. Fritz was born January 28, 1933, in Shamokin, PA, the daughter of the late William Alfred and Maude Lovee (Mosser) Carl. She attended school in Arlington, Virginia and married George David Fritz February 2, 1952, in Arlington. After thirty-five years of marriage, he preceded her in death November 13, 1986, in Waco, Texas.
Much of her life was spent as a switchboard operator for various business in Virginia and Texas. After moving to Texas in from Virginia in 1979, she was employed by Olan Mills and McLennan Community College, both in Waco, Texas.
Throughout her life, Ethel enjoyed making craft items, baking cakes and beautifully decorating them. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting and collecting various types of bells. It has been said she probably has collected over two thousand through the years.
Also preceding her in death were four brothers, three sisters and one great grandchild, Robert Lee Brown III “TRAE”.
Survivors include four sons, David Wesley Fritz and wife Rita, Daniel William Fritz and wife Martha Jo, Dale Scot Fritz and wife Teresa, Dean Joel Fritz; two daughters, Dianna Ruth Ziliox, Friedlinde Kocheise; a brother, Philip Carl; two sisters, Ruth Reynard, Gladys Carl; eleven grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
