Eric Scurlock

Eric James Scurlock, 43, of Hewitt, passed away Monday, December 9, 2013, at Providence Hospice Place at St. Catherine Center. A memorial service will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday, December 14, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home Chapel, 8220 Woodway Dr with Rev. Jim Menke officiating. Visitation with Eric’s family will follow the memorial service.

Eric was born December 8, 1970 in Dallas to Barbara Whitehead. He grew up in Converse, TX and moved back to Dallas at the age of 14. After school while working at Tom Thumb, Eric met his wife, Coleen Kaye Scurlock. The couple married June 22, 1991. In 1992, Eric and Coleen moved to Waco, where Eric worked at Winn Dixie and then HEB.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, David Scurlock and Jeremy Scurlock; and father-in-law, Kurt Kolberg.

Eric is survived by wife, Coleen Kaye Scurlock; sons, Jeffrey James Scurlock and Colton Tyler Scurlock all of Hewitt; parents, John and Barbara Whitehead of Caddo Mills; brother, Jason Mark Scurlock, of Greenville; cousin, Kevin Hoxie, of Garland; mother-in-law, Karen Kolberg, of Athens; sister-in-law, Cheryl Kolberg, of Carrolton; brother-in-law, Scott Kolberg, of Wylie; five nephews, two nieces, five aunts, and four uncles.
