Elizabeth Kelly

Elizabeth Mary (Betty) Kelly, age 90, passed away on June 10, 2010, at a local nursing facility. Visitation will be Monday June 14th from 11:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Grace Gardens Funeral Home. A private memorial service will follow.

Betty was born on March 26, 1920, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada to Wilfred Mansel Gerrow and Leone Elliott Gerrow. The family moved to Columbus, Ohio and all became U.S. citizens. Betty graduated from Upper Arlington High School in Columbus and attended Ohio State University. Betty married Richard Kelly on April 8, 1944. They raised their two daughters in Kansas City. In 2007, she became a Texan when relocating to Waco from Kansas City. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Maxine Elliott Fisher. Surviving are her daughters, Debby Kelly Kilbourne and husband, Kelly Kilbourne of Kansas City, Mo; Patty Kelly Stovall and husband, Robert Stovall, of Waco; grandsons Bradley Stovall of Ft. Worth and Scott Stovall of Waco; nephew, Dudley Elliot Fisher of Naperville, IL.

The family wishes to thank the caregivers at Wesley Woods Alzheimer’s Care Center who made Betty comfortable and content in her final years as well as Providence Hospice who cared for her in her final weeks. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wesley Woods Alzheimer’s Care Center or Providence Hospice.
