Edna Greeson

Edna Loraine Mortson Greeson, 89, of Waco went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 13, 2023.  A funeral service will be 10am, Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home. Interment at Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum will follow.  A Visitation with the family will be 6-8 pm, Monday, January 16, 2023 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.

Edna “Eddye” was born, April 29, 1933 i n Webster, Wisconsin to Gertrude and Rasmus Mortson, who immigrated from Denmark, she was the ninth of ten children.  She attended school in Wisconsin.  Following graduation, Edna and a sister moved to the “cities” of Minnesota to work. In forming relationships there, they moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado for another opportunity.  From that experience, she moved to Ft. Worth, Texas where she took a job at the Army Corps of Engineers district office and met the love of her life, Clyde Greeson.  The couple married in May of 1962.  They eventually moved to Speegleville, Texas, where their youngest daughter, Lana, grew up.

Eddye loved her church family and enjoyed being involved and serving anywhere she could.  She was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church, most recently Trinity Lutheran at Badger Ranch.

She was preceded in death by, her beloved husband; brothers, Andrew Mortson, Robert Mortson; sisters, Eva Tobias, Evelyn Carlson, Edith Hansen, Esther Marcon, and Ellen Hartshorn.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Lana Lynch and husband Charles, Juathema “George” Mitchell and husband Gus; grandchildren, Chase Lynch and wife Taylor, Chane Lynch and wife Ashley, Cheyenne Sanchez and husband Alec, Sidney de Villiers and husband Andre, and Shannon Sanders; great grandchildren, Walker, Sawyer, Dean, Bowen, Josh, Gabriella, Ryan; sisters, Ethel Daniels, Elaine Scott and husband Charles; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to Billie DeChaume for all her loving care over the past years.
