Edith W. Allinson age 96 passed away peacefully at her home in Waco on Thursday January 26, 2012. Funeral Services will be 2PM Sunday January 29, 2012 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home in Waco with Father Raj. officiating. Interment will follow Wednesday February 1, 2012 in Phoenix, Arizona. Visitation will be 6 to 8PM Saturday January 28, 2012 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.
Edith (Babszi) was born December 29, 1915 in Hungary to Ferenc and Ethel Schmidt. Her father was a well-known heart doctor in Hungary and was in charge of the Heart Hospital in Balatonfured, Hungary. Edith met her husband Francis in Pakistan after World War II. Francis was a surgeon and they moved to America in 1953. Edith had 2 children, Eva and Richard, and she always showed them great love. Edith spent most of her life in America in Phoenix, Arizona. She kept close to the Hungarian community in Arizona. She moved to Waco, Texas to live with her son and daughter-in-law.
Edith loved her family and friends. She was so proud of her grandchildren, Elizabeth and Frankie. She always saw the good things in life. She had a great joy for living and loved people. She could adapt to any circumstance that life presented. She was a great cook, loved grocery shopping and preparing meals for the family. She had a kind heart towards animals and always wanted to make sure the pets were well fed.
Edith was preceded in death by her father Ferenc, mother Ethel, and sister Alice (Lici). She is survived by her brother Ferenc (Osci), daughter Eva, son Richard, daughter-in-law Wanda, grandchildren Elizabeth and Frankie.
Edith and her family want to thank CeCe for her love and kindness during the last year of her life. We also want to thank all of the nice people involved in caring for Edith.
