Ediclair Stevens Jacks, 98, of Waco passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2016 at Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum with Dr. Steve Mansen officiating.
Ediclair Stevens Jacks was born in Lubbock March 29, 1917 to Mr. and Mrs. C.T. Stevens. She moved with her parents to Waco from Tulia in 1932 and graduated from Waco High School in 1934. She married Pat Sullivan in 1939 and he died in 1942. In 1947, she married Thomas Lowell Jacks. He died in 1985. Ediclair worked for the Crosthwait Clinic and Waco Diagnostic Clinic until 1977. She became Director of the Parents Day Out Program at Central Christian Church in 1980 and retired in 1993. She was a devoted member of Central Christian Church and was the first woman to chair the official Board - serving two terms 1981 - 1983. Ediclair was a former president of the Christian Women's Fellowship, teacher of the Crusaders Sunday School Class, and an elder. She also delivered meals on wheels and volunteered at Hewitt Elementary School.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, parents, sisters, Emily Jane Haile and Carlene Smith; and a grandson, David Armstrong.
Ediclair is survived by her daughter, Eileen Armstrong and husband, Doyle, of Waco; son, Lindsey Jacks and wife, Sherri, of Hewitt; granddaughter, Allison Cook; grandson, Darren Armstrong; and Brenda Homerstad of Clifton.
