Harvey "Edgar" Farris, 86, of McGregor, formerly of Lorena, passed away Sunday, December 21, 2014. A Memorial Service in celebration of his life will be held at 11am, Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Cottonwood Baptist Church, 890 FM 2643 (Levi Parkway), in Lorena, with his nephew, the Rev. Gary Tull officiating.
Edgar was born May 7, 1928, in Flat, Texas to Harvey and Bertha Farris. He married Gladys Levy on June 8, 1946. He retired after 37 years as a diesel mechanic from Central Freight Lines. He was a rancher and cattle buyer. He was also a life-long Baptist and ordained Deacon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Vennis, Vernie and Ellis Farris; sister, Lois Tull; son, William "Bill" Denver Farris; granddaughter, Jessica Robinson; and great-granddaughter, Avery Grace Byrd.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Linda Perry and husband, Sammy, Debbie Alls and husband, Richard, Lori Robinson and husband, Bryan, Lisa Burt, Shelly Patterson and husband, Jim; favorite daughter-in-law, Mary Farris; 12 of grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Doris Trammel; sister-in-law, Bobbie Farris; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
