Edgar Francis Aycock passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family. Services will be held at 10am, Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Moody Church of Christ.
Baby was born on January 16, 1943, in White Hall, Texas at home to Ona Mae Halpain and Edgar Everette Aycock following 3 older brothers Kenneth, Virgil and Wilburn proclaiming the spot as “Baby” until 16 years later little sister, Mallie Ann, came along. By that time, he had already been established as Baby and there the name stood for years to come and what everyone that met him would come to know him by.
On March 20, 1963, Baby married Mary “Sue” Beasley in Temple, Texas. A few short years later they welcomed their first daughter Chris, following Chris was daughter Vickie and then son Michael after that.
Baby enjoyed Hunting, fishing, golfing and playing lottery tickets. He was a carpenter by trade and for several years taught carpentry classes at TSTC in Waco. He worked for the City of Moody as Director of Public Works and following that worked for the Temple VA and retired from the VA years later. Upon retirement he worked for Moody housing authority for several years. For many years Baby coached his children and grandchildren’s baseball and softball teams, leading them on too many wins and plenty of good times and lessons learned.
Baby is Survived by his wife of 61 years Sue, Daughters Chris Fletcher and husband William, Vickie Martin and Mike Taylor and son Michael Aycock and wife Kellie; Sister, Mallie Ann Chatham. Grandchildren, Jana and Steven Hubbard, Laken Mitchell and Logan Taylor, Chelcee Hall, Branson Aycock and Michenna Skaggs. Great-Grandchildren Knox and Berklee Fielder, Case Hubbard, Piper and Covey Mitchell, Bailey Taylor and Saylor Skaggs. And many nieces and nephews that he loved and cherished dearly.
Preceding Baby in Heaven are his parents Ona and Edgar Aycock, Brothers Kenneth, Virgil and Wilburn, and Great Grandson Kason Taylor.
