Bruce Strahan age 89, passed away at a local hospital. Funeral Services will be Saturday June 20, 2009 at Cottonwood Cemetery in Cross Plains, Texas. Bruce was born on August 24, 1920 in Ft. Worth, Texas to James Howard Strahan and Emma Belle Clark-Strahan. He attended school at Baird, Cottonwood, and Abilene. Bruce graduated from Cross Plains High School in 1938. He attended A&M University for 2 years before attending Houston Dental College, which he graduated from in 1944. Bruce married Miriam I. Stanford of Waller, Texas in 1943.
Dr. B. B. Strahan served in the Navy from 1943 to 1946 after which he practiced a short period in Cross Plains, Texas followed by a long career in Odessa. He was called back into service during the Korean War, and retired in 1978.
After retiring from dentistry, in 1978 he and his wife moved to his ranch in Hamilton, Texas where they spent several years before finally settling in McGregor.
Bruce B. Strahan is survived by his immediate family. Wife, Miriam Inez Stanfor, son, Bruce B. Strahan, Jr.and wife Billie Jean Lutz-Strahan of Austin and grandsons Charles and Bruce of Dallas, William Allen Strahan and wife Becky of Plano and their children, Charlie, Mitch, Megan, and Katie of Plano, and Michael Phillip Strahan of Atlanta, Ga. Darlene Beth Strahan-Fertitta-Schnizer of McGregor adn son Anthony Julian (Fertitia) Strahan of Austin, Paul Boyd Strahan of Tulsa and Cynthia Belle Strahan of Waco. Also surviving Bruce B. Strahan is his brother Harold Virgil Strahan and family from Cottonwood, Texas.
