Dovie Chastain

Dovie Belle Chastain, of Lorena made the world a better place for 90 years, and died Thursday December 14, 2017. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday December 19th at Grace Gardens Funeral Home, 8220 Woodway Drive with interment following at Rosemond Cemetery. Family visitation and celebration of her life will be 5 - 7 p.m. Monday December 18th at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.

Dovie was born in Wortham, TX. September 11, 1927 to James Henry Christian and Maggie Belle Halford Christian. Dovie was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She loved socializing with her Legion friends. Her warm smile and pleasant laughter will be greatly missed.

Dovie was preceded in death by S. E. Chastain and their son, Larry Lee Chastain; and two sisters, Neta Miller and Linda Tomlinson.

Dovie is survived by two daughters, Debbie Scoggins and husband, Pogo, of Lorena and Marcee Thomas and husband, Stacy, of Lorena; five grandchildren, Tamron Davis and husband, Brian, Roger Cullens and wife, Julia, Dusty Scoggins and wife, Mandy, Ty Scoggins and wife, Chelsey, and Jody Scoggins and wife, Kim; 13 beautiful great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
