Doug Brumley of Gatesville passed away suddenly Sunday afternoon, October 25, 2020, at the age of 62. To celebrate his life, a private gathering will be held.
Doug was born Nov. 6, 1957, in Benton, Ark, the son of the late Jehu Sherman and Bonice Florene (Thompson) Brumley. Moving to Texas at an early age, he attended McGregor High School. In July of 1975, he married Gail Musgrove in Waco, Texas. After thirty-eight years of marriage, she preceded him in death Aug. 8, 2013.
Doug loved the outdoors; fishing, hunting and riding the back roads with his brother.
Also preceding him in death was his brother, Randy Brumley.
Survivors include a daughter; Donna Shier and husband Michael of Waco; three grandsons, Colton Shier, Kade Shier, Sethan Shier; great granddaughter, Bexley Shier all of Mt. Calm; Son, Robert Choquette and wife Rachel of Waco; grandkids, Raven Choquette of Clifton, Logan Choquette, Aurora Choquette both of Waco; great grandson, Carter Waldron of Clifton; Son, Douglas Brumley of Mt. Calm; granddaughter, Alyssa Hoskins of Oglesby; Sister, Shirley Bohne and husband Don of McGregor; sister-in-law, Connie Brumley of McGregor and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family extends their sincere appreciation to Billy Thompson and Vern Jones of Gatesville for their love and care of Doug since his wife and brother passing. Their friendship was constant and unwavering – truer friends have no man. Doug was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
