Dorothy Turner

Dorothy Marie Turner, 86, of Waco passed away after a brief illness Friday, December 27, 2013, at a local hospital. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Monday, December 30 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home, 8220 Woodway Dr with Deacon Jeff Heiple officiating. Interment will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be 5 -7 p.m. Sunday, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.

Dorothy was born in Gerald August 3, 1927 to Otto and Sophie Leuschner. She graduated from Waco High School in 1945. She married Bob Turner May 1, 1948 and had two children. Dorothy was employed as a teller in the local banking community from 1951 until her retirement from Texas First State Bank in 2005. She was a member of Western Heights Baptist Church.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and two sisters.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter Janet Carlile and husband Tommy, of Groesbeck; son, Robert Turner and wife, Stephanie, of Waco; grandchildren, Thomas Carlile and wife, Jadyn, Ashley Carlile, Sara Turner-Mays, Rebecca Turner, Austin Turner; and great-granddaughter, Hayden Mays.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hillcrest Hospice, The American Heart Association, The American Cancer Society, Reicher Catholic High School, or a charity of your choice.
