Dorothy Louise Terry

July 14, 1928 — May 29, 2024

Dorothy Louise Pack Terry 07/14/1928 - 05/29/2024

Wednesday evening, May 29, Dorothy Lousie Terry went to be with Jesus with her sons by her side. She knew her family loved her, and we know she loved Jesus, all her family, friends, and bingo. Dorothy was known as Granny to her grandkids. She told her granddaughters often how she prayed every night and thanked Jesus for her family and asked Him to keep us safe and healthy.

Dorothy was an active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and was baptized there on August 1, 1943. She loved her church and was a faithful active member. She looked forward each year to helping prepare for the Christmas Candlelight Service. She loved watching the Texas Rangers and all sports and playing bingo at "The Center." She retired as school crossing guard for WISD in 2011, celebrating 46 years of service. She also received special recognition by the City of Waco when the mayor proclaimed September 7, 2004 as "Dorothy Terry Day." She was an honorary lifetime Parent Teachers Association member.

Her "famous"quote every time we left after visiting her was, "No use rushing off." She told us not to forget her, which we could never do. We will miss her terribly but know she is no longer suffering.

A special thank you to Baylor S&W hospice nurse, Tammy Barton, for her special care and assistance.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil W. Terry, parents, B. L. Pack & Monta Lee Cates Turner, and sister, Frances Boleman.
