A service will be held on Friday, Mar. 4,2016, at 10:00 am at Grace Gardens Funeral Home in Woodway, Tx; followed by a private family burial at Forest Oaks Cemetery in Austin. Viewing will be Thursday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Grace Gardens.

Dottie was born in 1935, in Eldorado Tx. She grew up in the country and loved telling stories of helping her daddy with the many chores, and rodeo barrel racing. Dottie also loved sharing that she was an RN and was once a surgical and ER nurse. Dottie was a long time resident of Austin during her younger years, but was fortunate enough to have moved around the world when she married into the military. During their military years, the family moved every 4 years, living in England and Spain, as well as several places within Arkansas, New Mexico and Texas. After her husband retired in 1975, the family moved back to Austin until after his death, when Dottie followed her daughter and family to Waco in 2010. Dottie had many friends from her years in Austin, as well as made many new friends during her 5 years at Brookdale Senior Living in Waco.

Dottie was preceded in death by her mother and father, Ida and Gordie Alexander; husband, Chuck McLean; and daughter-in-law, Sue Morgan.

She leaves behind a daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Jimmy Hileman; 2 granddaughters and their husbands, Brooke and Jacob Baker, and Morgan and Colby Witt; great-grandsons Grayson and Brady Witt, all from Waco; a son, Skip Morgan, of Austin; sister, Norma Jackson, of Paris, Tx; a stepson and daughter-in-law, Alex and Carolyn McLean, and grandkids Katie, Richard, and Amanda, all of FL.; and her faithful sweetheart, Major. Dottie also leaves behind several very dear friends, who all left a mark in her life - she loved you all.

A special thank you to Mary Adams, and LaDonna Nelson, for your gentle but persuasive ways with Mom, and for all your help thru these years, especially the last 3 months. The family would also like to express a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful people at Southern Care Hospice of Waco, for all the love, tenderness, and genuine care and concern you showed Mom thru the end of her life.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any Veterans affiliated organization, or your local Humane Society.
