Dorothy (Compian) Burge

Dorothy Ann Burge of Waco passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at the age of 67 in Corpus Christi surrounded by her family.  A memorial visitation will be 9:00 A.M. Monday, January 3, 2022, in the Chapel of Grace Gardens Funeral Home.  The memorial service will follow at 10:00 A.M. with Scott Rhodes officiating.

Dorothy was born May 26, 1954, at Connally Air Force Base in Waco, Texas, the daughter of the late Matias and Mary Compian.  She was a graduate of University High School and attended Michigan Dorsey College where she received a certificate for Medical Billing.

Dorothy enjoyed spending time with family and close friends.  She especially loved spending time with her grandsons whome she thought the world of. She also enjoyed taking rides in a private plane with one of her friends in Michigan. ­ Dorothy often spoke about how beautiful the scenery was from upon high.  It has been said that Dorothy had a great soul and was beautiful inside and out.  She loved helping her family no matter what the need was, as her heart was larger than life.

Through her tough journey, she never lost sight of what was important.  That was worrying about everyone else except herself. Through her life she had a strong faith, which never quivered, and had an infectious laughter.  She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Also preceding her in death was a daughter, Denise Garcia.

Survivors include her daughter, Crystal Franks and fiancé, Omar Cabello; grandsons, Royal Franks and wife Syan, Jordan Franks both of Corpus Christi; four brothers and four sisters and their families.
