September 22, 1916 — November 20, 2010

Doretha Madonna Clark (Madonna), age 94, passed away on Saturday, November 20 at home in McGregor with family at her side. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 24 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home Chapel.

Madonna was born September 22, 1916 in Willow, Oklahoma to Samuel Hawkins Douglas and Roxie Doretha Jackson Douglas. In 1938, she married the love of her life, Othal Ralph Clark (Jack). The couple had two children and celebrated 63 years together before Jack’s death in 2001. Madonna was a lifelong homemaker who cared for her children in Ingleside, Texas. Madonna and Jack later lived in San Juan, Texas and Kerville, Texas. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Madonna loved her family selflessly, and even at large family gatherings, knew how to make everyone feel special. Guided by her faith, Madonna was an eternal optimist with countless friends maintained for a lifetime.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, her mother and father, and brother Ralph Douglas.

Those left to cherish her are: son Jerald Don Clark and his wife, Terrie, of Kerrville; daughter Patricia Marlin and her husband, Kenneth, of McGregor; granddaughter Jacque Leo and her husband, Alex, of Pflugerville; grandson Jason Marlin and his wife, Angie, of Coppell; great grandchildren: Ashley, Christina, Brianna, Jack and Kenzi; and numerous nephews and nieces.

The family wishes to thank Providence Hospice of Waco and Providence Home Care for the loving care and attention given by their nurses and health care aides to Madonna in her final days.
