Dora M. Giles passed away peacefully Friday March 1, 2019, at the age
of 80, surrounded by her daughters Paula and Laura, niece Cynthia, granddaughter Dorian and other loving family members by her side. A memorial service will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday March 9, 2019, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home Chapel, 8220 Woodway Dr. with John Carothers officiating.
Mrs. Giles was born April 4, 1938, in Waco, Texas, the daughter of the late Anusasion “Sherman” and Pilar (Salazar) Morales. She had three older sisters; Dominga, Nieves and Amalia, Two brothers; Tomasito and a younger brother Tomas.
Mrs. Giles was a loyal, dedicated daughter, mother, aunt and grandmother. She will be remembered as the aunt who included her nieces and nephews whenever she treated her own children to trips and outings such as gong to Six Flags, New Braunfels, San Antonio, Houston, skate parties, and softball games in the park.
In her later years, it has been said Dora was generous person. She was often seen on her motor chair with her side kick Paloma in her neighborhood sharing Bible truths and homemade salsa. Her service to and faith in her God, Jehovah was her main priority in life and she shared that message with everyone even in her last days in the hospital.
Survivors include a sister, Amalia; two daughters, Paula Teer, Laura Giles; grandchildren, Philip, Elijah, Bobbie, Dorian, Ian, Mariah, Sabrina, Cassie, Marcus, Amber, Evan; thirty-one great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dora’s daughters, extends their appreciation to her niece Cynthia for helping with the final care of their mother, her nephew George for helping Dora by taking her to her beloved meetings and various other places and to others who called or visited to encourage her during her life and through her illness.
