Donna Kay Baldridge, 74, of Waco passed away Monday, August 30th, 2021 at her home. An inurnment memorial gathering will be 10 am, Saturday, September 25th at Oakwood Cemetery.
Donna Kay was born August 17th, 1947 in Waco, Texas. She was the daughter of Drury C. and Callie Angelina Baldridge. She and her older brother Bob spent their early years in Waco, and later, in Temple. She graduated from Temple High School in 1965, and went on to attend Temple Junior College. There she played on the basketball team and continued her lifelong love of team sports. Later, she graduated from the Police Academy.
Her work life was spent in jobs that made use of her excellent communication skills and ability to relate to people. She owned her own finance company, worked retail sales, and eventually did law enforcement work as an officer for McLennan Community College.
Donna Kay had many interests outside of her work. She was an adventurous spirit who enjoyed riding her Harley motorcycle, and she loved Thunderbirds. She and her partner, Maggie Becker, loved to travel and interact with family and their many friends. Man, did they love a good cookout! They doted on their pets, and were lifelong animal lovers. DK and Maggie were the kind of friends that everyone wishes to have. If you needed something, they were there to help you. Donna Kay loved her family. She was a cherished daughter, sister, and aunt. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her partner, Maggie Becker; her parents, Drury and Callie Baldridge; and her brother Bob. Left to cherish her memory are her niece Robyn Baldridge Foster and husband Malcolm Foster; her nephew Ryan Baldridge; her sister-in-law Cris Baldridge; and her many dear cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation to a charity of your choice.
