Don Keeton, age 93, passed away at his home outside of Waco after a brief battle with brain cancer, just six weeks after the death of his wife, Wilma. They were married for 65 years.
Don was born in Guntersville, AL to Tyler Keeton and Kate Barnard Keeton. He grew up picking cotton and working on the farm. He quickly became known for being able to fix anything for his friends, especially bicycles. He had a natural curiosity about how things worked. Graduating from Auburn University in 1952, Don spent his career as a nuclear engineer for the Tennessee Valley Authority in Oak Ridge, TN. He was the best earthly father anyone could ask for, instilling in his children and their friends a love of learning, of being kind, hardworking and respectful, and of enjoying nature.
Survivors include his brother Leece Barnard Keeton of Hewitt, TX; Joe Keeton and Monique Ethier of Taos, NM; Ken and Mical Keeton of Woodbine, Maryland; and Patrick and Robin Keeton Brady of Waco, TX. Grandchildren include Erica Keeton, Kyla Brady and fiance Vicram Chatterjee, and Megan Brady. No services are planned at this time.
Memorial Services are pending.
