Diane Wilma (Goebel) Sepeta passed away on February 21, 2019 in Waco, TX. Diane was born March 8, 1933 in Bellevue, OH to Dorman and Wilma (Waychoff) Goebel.
Diane spent her formative years in Bellevue, OH and attended Ohio University where she met and married her college sweetheart Art Sepeta.
Diane was a proud and active military spouse. Diane taught elementary school while Art served in the Army. Diane and Art planted roots in Anderson, IN in 1965 and recently moved to Texas to be closer to family. Diane was active in volunteering with community affairs and raising their family. Diane cherished being involved in all facets of being a mom and a mom to all that walked in her home. Diane hosted countless Cub Scout and Brownie meetings, and never missed a Little League ballgame, track or swim meet. Everyone knew there would be fresh homemade cookies and an extra plate (or 2) was always ready to set at the table for a meal.
Diane volunteered for many years as a Pink Lady at Community Hospital, ultimately becoming the president of the Pink Ladies Association. Involvement in The Isabel Society was also a passion for Diane with countless hours of planning and service, ranging from the memorable recipe books to community dinners.
Diane enjoyed playing bridge with her women’s group, attending historic associations, and travel.
Summer travels with Grandma and Grandpa were precious. The thematic trips (Wild West, East Coast dolphin watching, Canadian fishing trip, Caribbean, and Disney World) were enthusiastically planned and executed. Diane’s grandchildren loved spending time at Grandma and Grandpa’s house.
Through the years, Art and Diane attended the Anderson First United Methodist Church where they volunteered at the community dinners and enjoyed many of the special events hosted by the church.
Diane is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years Art, who resides in Waco, TX. Diane doted on her 3 children, 7 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. Diane’s son Rick and wife Shelley (Wade) Sepeta (South Padre Island, TX); 2 grandchildren Lauren (Dallas, TX) and Michael (Lansing, MI).
Diane cherished her great-grand nieces and nephews. Diane embraced her blended family of grandchildren and great-grandchildren as only a grandma would.
