Debra Lanette (Ray) Armstrong

September 20, 1952 — October 11, 2023

Lorena, Texas

Debra Lanette Armstrong, lovingly known to friends and family as "Debbie," was born September 20, 1952, and passed to her heavenly reward on October 11, 2023.

She is survived and fondly remembered by her mother, Emily Geraldine Turner; daughter, Kerri Sullivan Sims; sister, Barbara Sullivan; and  grandchildren William Richardson and Emmaleigh Richardson.  She was preceeded in death by her husband, Robert Alan Armstrong; her father, James A. Turner; and brothers Jerry Wayne Ray and Jimmy Lou Turner.

Debbie loved and provided for her family, always placing their needs and wants above her personal needs.  Her personal sacrifices were many, almost to a fault.

Debbie had a special relationship with all of her nephews and nieces.  They all loved "Aunt Debbie."  Recently, even one of her great-nephew's commented, "She always made us smile."

Debbie was a creative individual who was gifted at planning and decorating for other people's special occasions.  For many years, she was an active leader in church ministries, including Children's Church and Missionettes.  She loved music and enjoyed it until her final days.

Debbie, we were all privileged to be a part of your life.  We will miss you but we know that we will see you again for it is written:  "For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.  After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air."  (1 Thessalonians 4:16,17 NIV)
