David Walters was born September 28, 1953, in Waco, to Robert and Ethel Walters. He graduated from Richfield High School in 1972. He became a member of the Southern Drag Boat Association in 1981 and purchased a drag boat with the help of his father. The father-son team began racing all across Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. Later in the 80s, he became an entrepreneur, as the owner of two very successful businesses, Cellular Plus and DOW Racing. His precision to detail and perfectionist nature lead him to be highly respected among the racing community. He was an avid Nascar fan, fisherman, and loyal friend.
David is survived by his special love, Cynthia Walters; daughter Ashley and fiancé Justin Snider; mother Ethel Walters; sister Terry Dougherty; brother Larry Walters and wife Lisa; grandson Matthew Swann; along with several nieces, nephews and a host of loving friends that are a part of his extended family.
